Day 77 – April 1 – Mumbai and Agra, India

This was a long and busy day. We signed up for the ships “Taj Mahal in a day” excursion.

We started at 6:30am clearing immigration. We had about an hour bus ride to the airport, then a 2-hour charter flight from Mumbai to Agra. We toured the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fortress in Agra, then had the 2-hour return flight and the hour bus ride back to the ship. We got back on the ship at 9:30pm…so it was 15 hours on the go.

The temperature was hot. It was 100 degrees F, and the humidity was 65%. While this was stifling for us, we kept thinking about the shanty houses that so many people lived in that obviously would not have air conditioning.

This was a good trip, although we are tired. I’ll enter text about each of the places below along with photos.

KATHLEEN AND DAVE,
I would be interested in the price you had to pay for the excursion to Agra. I will be taking the Holland America cruise segment from Cape Town to Singapore with a stop in Mumbai. The price of this one day excursion from Mumbai to Agra is $2545. That price is just more than I can afford and is more than my flight from Omaha to Cape Town and back from Singapore to Omaha.
PRINCESS HAS A VERY SIMILAR EXCURSION THAT COSTS $ 899, WHICH SEEMS MORE REASONABLE.
