We transit the Suez Canal tomorrow (Wed). We are traveling really slowly today, since we must anchor the ship in the holding area south of the Canal tonight, then transit with a northern-moving convoy at 6:00 am tomorrow. It will take 10 hours to transit. Since our suite has such a great and rare forward-looking view from the ship, we are inviting some other passengers to join us for part of the transit in our room.
We had originally been scheduled to then anchor in the offshore waiting area on the Mediterranean side of the Suez Canal tomorrow evening, then dock early the next morning. Because immigration clearance may be difficult, it appears that we may have a new plan that allows us to dock tomorrow evening in Port Said and be there overnight. This may open up a new chance to go ashore in Port Said (especially for those who have an all-day excursion the next day into Cairo).
