The ship has an MD on board. We had a friend get a fracture break in her leg while on an excursion. This type of thing can be handled.
The MD was also busy early on the cruise where we were fighting the novo virus.
Several days ago one of my teeth started to ache. The ship does not have a dentist. We did not pack any sensitivity toothpaste, nor any of the Oragel-type products. That was an outage.
We were able to find a friend who gave us both of these products. More importantly, we had brought lots of antibiotics (cipro). The dental products did not help, but the cipro did. That is great. I would not have wanted to have the hassle and time waste of finding a dentist in port, nor the fret of doing that in some port such as Egypt.
I post this for future long cruise planners. Pack fewer clothes, but all of the drugs you might conceivably need.
