Memorial to Hiroshima Bombing

This is the only remaining building from the Hiroshima bombing. This building was located about 200 meters from the bomb’s epicenter. It escaped total destruction because the copper and slate roofing shielded the building from the heat destruction.

The people of Japan seem to deal with the memory of the atomic bomb in a positive way. They kept this one building to help retain the memory. They also have a huge park in memory of the victims. They have a flame that they will not extinguish until all nuclear bombs have been disarmed.
