We just got back to the ship from our half-day tour of Saigon. We leave in less than an hour to fly to Angkor Wat, Cambodia, so this will be brief.
The main impression of Saigon was “traffic!” It should have been about 25 minute drive to downtown from the pier, but it was 1-1/4 hours. They say the traffic moves as fast as the slowest bicycle. In truth, there were times it was slower due to a choke point. They have lots of motor scooters…that is the dominant form of transportation.
We went to the National History Museum, a Taoist shrine, a lacquer factory and store, and some other shopping areas.
