We leave today slightly after noon to fly to Beijing for 3 nights, then we catch the ship again on 3/14 in Hong Kong.
The ship is docked near the main shopping area of Shanghai, which has 600 shops along 3 miles of road. Shanghai is huge: almost 19 million people. We caught a bus to this area to shop during the morning prior to our plane. Lots of knock-offs in back alleys. We didn’t need to find them; they found us (through people who latched onto us in the street). Kathleen was looking for a particular type of purse, which she did not find, so no purchases.
The blog may be quiet for 3 days until we get back to the ship in Hong Kong. If the hotel offers free internet, then I may do some posting from there, otherwise talk to you again in 3 days.
