Kathleen’s Birthday

Yesterday was Kathleen’s birthday. It was also formal night. Therefore, I say, I was able to get the whole ship to dress up for her birthday.

We ate in the steakhouse specialty restaurant. This is an extra $15 per person charge. For 7-day cruises, the steakhouse and the specialty Italian restaurant typically book out early because many people want to eat once in each during the week. However, when you are on a 16-week cruise, you do not feel a need to eat in each 16 times. As a result these specialty restaurants have been quite empty. We had a 6:30pm booking, and there were only 4 other reservations…all for 8:30. So I was able to tell Kathleen that I reserved the entire restaurant for her and me for her birthday.

You have 7 steak types from which to choose. Kathleen picked the smaller fillet. I decide that I would attempt the 22 oz porterhouse steak just one time. I did okay on it.

After we had ordered and eaten dessert, they brought a miniature birthday cake for Kathleen. So we overate in style.

After the show we went up to dance. Only about 12 passenger up on the dance floor, so the band recognizes us. They played happy birthday to Kathleen.
