Cabin Choice—Where You Are

There are 3 aspects of cabin choice that are important: how big you want, where on the ship you are, and how much you pay for a given choice of cabin type. I’ll post on each of these separately…here on location.

In the aft (back) of the ship, you get engine vibration. It can seem soothing, or annoying. It is a constant shuttering motion with noise.

In the forward (front) of the ship, you generally get a smooth ride, but when the ship is pitching (rocking front to back direction) you experience this more than others. I don’t think this has been so bad. Kathleen takes meds each day and is not happy when we have this situation occur (but it has only really been significant about twice in the 6+ weeks so far).

In the center of the ship, you minimize both of these effects.

Beyond this, you can get a bad cabin. You can be above or below the casino or the dancing area…or next to the laundry room. Normally you are warned of this, but it is worth checking the map of the ship on the internet site to figure this out and avoid the bad cabins.
