Day 57 - 3/12 - Beijing

Today was our first of 2 full days in Beijing and area. We spent 11 hours on tour today: from 8:30am to 7:30pm. We are weary.Beijing is also big: 16 million people. It also has 12 million bicycles and 4 million cars. Most US cities has an outerbelt freeway. Some have two: and innerbelt and an outerbelt. Beijing has 6 ring roads of various diameters! The city expands all the way out to the 6th ring...no suburbs. We had 3 stops: the Temple of Heaven, the Forbiden City, and Tienneman Square. I'll say more about each within the next two days...either in this posting or under photo postings. We stopped for a dinner at a restaurant the specializes in Peking duck. It is the oldest Peking duck restaurant restaurant in Beijing...founded in 1864. Again I'll post photos and more detail on this once I'm back on the ship.
