We are back on the ship. We had an adventure. We left the ship on Friday, and returned on Sunday. We rented a car and drove to le Mont-St-Michel, then drove back for a Normandy tour. We made it back to the ship.
This was tiring. And the blog site is causing me problems. I have a lot to say about Normandy. And I cannot easily post items in the order that I would chose. So some items may seem in an alternate order. I may say too much, but we learned a lot.
We did okay on the excursion. But we did have two problems. First, we got lost once. Here is the issue.
European freeways do not say directions (west or east) or routes (eg “I-70””). Instead they say the far city that the road lead to. So, you may see a sign that says “Renes.” So what does that mean? You head towards a city and the signs to not say west or east, but only “Renes.” So you want to go to le Mont-St-Michel. So is Renes the right choice. The problem is that this is off of your map.
Anyway, we got lost badly half way to our destination and might have died, but we did not. We found out what to do eventually.
We did Mont-St-Michel the first day and then did a Normandy tour the second day. More detail to follow.
Normally I’d have listed the overview comment at the top, then figure out ahead of time the sub comments that I’d make and fill those is. But I’m having some problems with my posting system, so I’m going to post in reverse order.
We had an outstanding tour guide for the Normandy day, so I am going to post too much for most readers. So skip this as it gets posted.
