Day 19 – Feb 1 – Pitcairn Island

This is a really small island. Only 1-3/4 square miles with a population of 48! We sailed around and looked at it, but there was nothing to go to shore for.

This island is famous for the Mutiny on the Bounty. The natives look more European than Polynesian.

They were supposed to have some natives come onboard to sell stuff, but they cancelled because our ship has some cases of “intestinal distress.” Actually it is likely noro virus. We peaked at more than 50 cases, and now are back below 5 cases. Lots of hand washing, and we cannot serve ourselves at buffets. Anyone who gets sick is quarantined until two days after symptoms disappear. They are pretty sure that someone brought it onboard in Florida. Kathleen and I have been fine.

Bet you have the cleanest windows on the ship! Glad you didn't get sick.
